A Chair
[01]Description
The One and Only A Chair by TOLIX: The Original, an icon of French design. Conceived by Xavier Pauchard from 1927 to 1935, this metal chair has had multiple lives and identities. Originally galvanized and rugged, it mellowed over the years and adopted more contemporary colors from the early 2000s. Due to its lines, functionality, and durability, it has been globally recognized and embraced, perhaps even a bit too much, including by counterfeiters. For almost a century, every A Chair that has emerged from TOLIX workshops has been crafted by hand by artisans passing on a unique expertise in metalworking, involving stamping, bending, brazing, and polishing. These distinctive gestures, which earned TOLIX recognition as a Living Heritage Company, give our products a unique quality and an extra touch of soul. So, if you want to acquire a piece of French industrial heritage, hesitate no more and choose the Original. TOLIX has decided to offer it in only three finishes that only TOLIX teams can achieve with such a degree of perfection. A glossy finish in pure white that harmoniously reveals the curves of this icon. A polished raw steel finish highlighting the unique hand of our artisans enhanced by a varnish. Finally, the historic galvanized finish, which only TOLIX still offers as a tribute to Mr. Pauchard, ensuring your product can withstand all climates and stand the test of time by your side.

[06]Maintenance
- 06.1Clean your steel furniture with a slightly damp sponge and immediately dry it. Prefer warm water with a little Marseille soap or neutral pH dishwashing liquid over alcohol-based solutions. Rinse and dry immediately.
- 06.2Do not use any detergent (such as bleach or solvent) or abrasive/metallic sponge which could deeply damage the coating.
- 06.3For bird droppings or similar dirt, we recommend immediate cleaning to prevent corrosion and permanent staining.
- 06.4Ensure to thoroughly wipe and dry your furniture to avoid any possibility of rust development in the future.
