[02]Description
The One and Only Chair A by TOLIX: The Original, an icon of French design. Conceived by Xavier Pauchard in 1935 and perfected in 1956 by his son, Jean Pauchard, this metal chair has had several lives and identities. Originally galvanized and rugged, it softened over the years and adopted more contemporary colors in the early 2000s. Through its lines, functionality, and durability, it has gained worldwide recognition and adoption. Perhaps a bit too much - even by counterfeiters. For nearly a century, every Chair A that has come out of the TOLIX workshops has been handcrafted by artisans passing down traditional skills, involving stamping, bending, brazing, and polishing. These unique techniques, which earned TOLIX the recognition of "Living Heritage Company," give our products a unique quality and an extra soul. So, if you wish to acquire a piece of French industrial heritage, don't hesitate—buy the Original.

[07]Maintenance
- 07.1Clean your steel furniture with a slightly damp sponge and immediately dry it. Prefer warm water with a little Marseille soap or neutral pH dishwashing liquid over alcohol-based solutions. Rinse and dry immediately.
- 07.2Do not use any detergent (such as bleach or solvent) or abrasive/metallic sponge which could deeply damage the coating.
- 07.3For bird droppings or similar dirt, we recommend immediate cleaning to prevent corrosion and permanent staining.
- 07.4Ensure to thoroughly wipe and dry your furniture to avoid any possibility of rust development in the future.
